COVID19 Update – What to expect when visiting the practice
We completely understand you may be more nervous about visiting the dentist than normal. The truth is that your visit will be different as there will be more safety measures in place and consequently our practice may feel more ‘clinical’.
Our normal cross-infection control protocols against all previously known pathogens are already stringently woven into all clinical activity carried out at the practice. It should be remembered that the dental practice is already a very clean environment compared to public areas and although it is not possible for us to control sources of infection outside the dental practice, you are much safer here than the supermarket or anywhere else.
Dentists, hygienists and nurses will be wearing more safety clothing and face wear, and our reception teams will be wearing masks too. However under all the masks we are still the same friendly people and we will continue to look after you and put your care first.
We have spent time critically looking at every aspect of the practice with a view to removing all non-essential items that can potentially be the cause of infection, thus you will find that the practice may appear to be quite bare when you attend and we would request that you limit the personal belongings that you bring into the practice as these can carry infection.
Were possible we request that patients attend the practice alone as we have to strictly limit the number of patients in the practice. To help maintain social distancing if we have reached the maximum number of patients allowed in the practice, you may be asked to stay in your cars or wait outside until we are ready to take you in for your appointment.
When you arrive:
Please enter the practice through the front door only. This door is kept locked at all times , please ring the door bell and one of our patient care team will greet you and check your temperature using a no-touch thermometer and carryout a COVID assessment.
If your temperature is above 37.8C, you will be not be allowed to enter the practice and advised to rebook your treatment and follow the government guidelines for self-isolation.
We will ask you to use the hand sanitiser provided and wear a face mask at all times within the practice.
You will also notice safe social distancing signs on floors and throughout the practice and we would kindly ask you all to respect these instructions for the safety of our patients and staff.
After completing all COVID checks, we will always endeavour to take you directly to the surgery, if it is necessary to wait within our waiting areas please only use the allocated seating areas.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your visit to our practice please do not hesitate to speak to our Patient Care Team.
Please Note: Patients will not be able to gain access to the practice without a confirmed appointment.
