Our Personal Dental Plans provide you with your regular check-ups and hygienist treatments which are the best way to maintain your long term dental health, plus as a private patient your Personal Dental Plan includes a number of member’s benefits.

Joining our Personal Dental Plan is simple!

After discussing your dental care needs with your dentist simple choose the plan that is most suitable for you. We will require your bank details in order to set-up your monthly Direct Debit and you’re are done. You then have the peace of mind in knowing that all of your regular dental care is taken care of.

Is an Active Smile Dental Care plan insurance?

No, our Active Smile Dental Care Plan is a maintenance contract that allows your dentist to provide you with a planned preventive dental care programme. Through modern dental knowledge and techniques your dentist can help you achieve and maintain healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime. However, Active Smile can arrange on your behalf supplementary insurance to cover the cost of treatment required as a result of an accident or temporary treatment in the event of an emergency.

How is the cost of my plan calculated?

Your dentist at our practice will complete a simple chart that takes into account your dental history, the current health of your teeth and gums and the preventive care programme recommended. We offer three fixed levels of general preventative dental care, which your dentist will discuss with you.

In return for your monthly payment you are entitled to regular examinations and Hygiene treatments, including scaling and polishing, ongoing advice and a personal preventive programme that you normally receive from the practice to help you maintain a healthy smile. You also automatically receive supplementary Insurance which can help you with dental injuries or dental emergencies either at home or abroad. Our patient advisors can provide you with further details of the benefits that our Active Smile Dental Care Plans provide.

What is not covered by my plan?

What is not covered by my plan?

Excluded are, private treatments for things like fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures and specialist treatment not normally covered by routine general dentistry, such as cosmetic and orthodontic treatments, dental implants and specialist referrals. A complete list of what is excluded is provided within your contract. Our patient advisors can provide you with a copy of this list.

What are the available payment options for my plan?

What are the available payment options for my plan?

You can choose to pay your fee monthly by direct debit, or annually by cheque or credit card. The payment is made to Patient Plan, who are our collecting and administration agent for all of our Active Smile Dental Care Plan members.

How is my payment spent?

How is my payment spent?

A small percentage of your payment is retained by Patient Plan to cover administration and your emergency dental insurance. The bulk of your payment is sent to your dentist to cover your dental care.

Yes, there is a once-only fee of £10.00 debited during the first month of your contract to cover initial set-up costs of administration.

Once I have signed an Active Smile dental plan contract, can I cancel it?

Once I have signed an Active Smile dental plan contract, can I cancel it?

Yes, if you wish you can cancel your contract at any time by giving 30 days notice in writing to our practice. The contract will then end on the last day of the month. You can find out all the details of your membership on the copies of your contract.
